HOW TO SOLVE LOOK AIR PUZZLES

  • Numbers 0 or 2 and numbers 4 and 5.
  • Look at the neighbors.
  • Make the squares complete and bigger if possible.
  • Cells with numbers 3 at the edge.
  • Look for numbered cells with one solution.
  • The same areas may not see each other.
  • Enough space to match a number.

HOW TO DO RUKKUEA PUZZLES

Start with puzzles for beginners and learn the logic to make decisions. When you are in control of our solving techniques, then you can practice our Look-Air online puzzles. These are Rukkuea 10x10 puzzles.

In the following overview of tips we will explain basic and difficult solving techniques. So you will learn to solve Look Air puzzles step by step.

NUMBERS 0 OR 2 AND NUMBERS 4 OR 5

At the beginning of each Look-Air puzzle you may always make all the cells WHITE with number 0 and 2. It is not possible to solve a Rukkuea puzzle with a black cell containing number 0 or 2.

You have the opposite with numbers 4 and 5. At the start of each Look Air puzzle you can always immediately BLACKEN the cells with number 4 and 5. It is not possible to have a correct solution with a white cell containing number 4 or 5.

Cells with number 1 or 3 can be white or black.

LOOK AT THE NEIGHBORS

Each numbered cell, that is not at the edge of the grid, has 4 neighbors: two horizontal and two vertical neighbors. So we can blacken 3 more cells around digit 5 at r5k2.

We can make 3 cells white around digit 0 at r10k5.

A cell at the edge of the grid has less neighbors. That is how when can blacken the only two possible neighbors left for cell r1k3 with digit 2.

MAKE SQUARES COMPLETE AND BIGGER IF POSSIBLE

We don't always know the true size. So don't make if bigger if you are not sure.

When a square has reached its full size, you can make its horizontal and vertical neighbors white.

The 5 at r2k5 must be part of a 3x3 square. When you create a 4x4 square, then you have a problem with digit 4 at r2k6.

The numbers 3 in the left upper corner must be part of a 2x2 square.

CELLS WITH NUMBER 3 AT THE EDGE

When a cell at the edge has number 3, then that cell is always black to avoid equal squares seeing each other.

In the puzzle below we have blacken all the cells at the edge with number 3. We have also applied the technique of making the squares complete and adding white neighbors.

LOOK FOR NUMBERED CELLS WITH ONE SOLUTION

Focus on r3k8 with number 2. There is only one cell to put the last black neighbor.

Don't forget to place white neighbors after you have blacken a cell or when you have found all the neighbors of a cell.

We can make a cell white at r4k2 because the cell with number 1 at r3k2 is complete. You have the same at r5k5 and at r7k8.

THE SAME AREAS MAY NOT SEE EACH OTHER

Focus on r5k7 and r6k7. When one of them is black, then you have a rule conflict with the same square at r2k8. They can't be both black. So there is only one correct solution. They have to be both white.

You have the same at r6k9 and r7k9 to avoid the 2x2 squares seeing each other. There is only one way to solve this.

ENOUGH SPACE TO MATCH A NUMBER

This technique is especially true for high numbers starting from 3. Is there enough space to create a 2x2 square? Thait helps to decide if a cell must be black or white.

Look at number 3 in r8k4. If the cells is black, then there is not enough space for a 2x2 square. So it must be white.
