The Battleship puzzle, also known as Bimaru, Yubotu or Battleship Solitaire, is a logic puzzle based on a board game. This puzzle variant was invented in Argentina by Jaime Poniachik.

Extra: click on a number outside the grid and its background will turn GREEN. This is to indicate that you have found the total of ship parts for that row or column. For the numbers "0", the row or column is automatically filled with the symbol of water.

The grid hides ships of different sizes. Numbers next to the grid indicate how many cells in a row or column are occupied by parts of a ship.

The fleet consists of:

  • 1 battleship: 4 cells.
  • 2 cruisers: 3 cells.
  • 3 destroyers: 2 cells.
  • 4 submarines : 1 cells.

The ships may be oriented horizontally or vertically in the grid. Ships can not occupy adjacent grid squares, even diagonally. In nearly all Battleships puzzles, the contents of a few of the squares have been revealed to start you off. The object is to discover where all ten ships are located in the grid.
